| Exchange Relay Info |
|
Over time we have been inundated with unsolicited email messages, some of which were transmitted to us from Exchange servers that were (unknowingly to their owners) relaying messages. Even our original Exchange server had been relaying messages without our consent, so we found that this problem was prevalent and needed to be addressed. |
| |
| |
|
We wrote up a short explanation about what is happening, and a gave some hints on how to halt the relaying. You can access the page on Exchange relaying help here. Unfortunately in our case, we had to install a second non-Exchange email server exposed to the public internet, as we were unable to configure Exchange to halt the relaying, as Microsoft's solutions were insufficient. |

During the course of a Windows*-to-Linux conversion project we will be asked if the new Apache web server can co-exist with Windows* IIS, and how will users be able to access both servers running in an intranet from a single external public IP address. The answer of course is that the two server types can run on the same intranet. Plus the Apache server provides a method for both web servers to be access from the Internet through a single IP address. We wrote up a web page to explain how this can be accomplished. Please click here to access the web page explaining a heterogeneous web server installation. |
