As one might have already noticed from various articles we have written, the Artige Company is a research driven establishment. One of our areas of expertise is in Operations Research (OR), and its application to designing business processes and solving operational problems. OR provides us with the means to develop effective and accurate production management systems, as well as process control systems that run in real time, plus shop floor control systems. It also allows us to analyze existing functions and distill out the factors that have the greatest impact on the operation of a business, be it physical manufacturing or a service delivery undertaking. It would be hard to consider any product or project we engage with that is not touched in one way or another by our OR capabilities. |

Artige's concept of Operations Research is broader than most firms, who might focus on just decision science and queue theory. We also consider that every process is one part of a system, and apply General Systems Theory concepts to all of our research and work. For us at the Artige Company, OR is a way of life, where all decisions are measured against lowest cost, fastest results, and least use of resources, while integrating the decision outcomes into the customer's environment. |

As an added bonus, it just so happens that the concepts of TQM fall within our view of OR, as the TQM principles are inherent when OR is applied in a systemic manner. The Artige Company has taken a two-pronged approach to deploying TQM. Various TQM tenets are inherently incorporated into our products, just from our OR and quality focus. Concepts such as lean manufacturing and takt time are available through our scheduling algorithms. Real time SPC and process tracking are also available for those with a six-sigma yearning. On the other hand, we provide business process design consulting and training of various quality initiatives. While we offer OR and quality services outright, our dedication to these concepts is built into all of our products and deliverables. |
