For those who wonder what makes a leader or manager, they would be interested in the latest article posted by the Artige Company, titled "All About Leadership and Management and Why they Are Different". This article identifies the factors that separate leadership from management, and notes the relationship between process level and management level. This information was an unexpected but pleasant outcome from our business process design research. What makes this article unique is its reliance upon cause and effect relationships, which makes this research impervious to the "Management du Jour" effect. There is also a discussion on the relationship between leadership and quality. Please click here to access this indispensable management article. |

The article is now available, please click here to access it. |

As a service to our clients, as well as the public in general, the Artige Company has posted an article that describes the difference between various process design methodologies that one may encounter when considering changes to one's operations. These methodologies include TQM, Quality Management, Kaizen / continuous improvement, ISO 9000, reengineering, change management / BPR, BPM, six sigma and lean manufacturing. All of these popular programs have their roots in operations research, and we seem to be describing them and explaining their differences quite frequently. So it seemed worthwhile to us to post a consistent and impartial description of these methodologies. The article can be found here and is titled "Process Design Appraisal". |

The Artige Company is now offering consulting on operations research, in addition to IT. This is geared towards those clients that wish to increase efficiencies in their operations, both physical manufacturing processes and workflows experienced in the service industries. While the Artige Company has always had OR capabilities, they were used for product development and as a sideline to the IT consulting. After working with a recent client we found that there is a need in the marketplace for OR consulting on its own. If you wish to engage our OR expertise, please call us at (1) 717-354-5541, or send a message to sales@artige.com. |
